Empathy, Education & Empowerment
We are excited to announce the opening of our brand new support line from the 1st January 2021. It's completely free to call us. We are here to listen & support you. Lines are open 7 days a week, 2pm to 8pm.
The Unchained Phoenix C.I.C. supports women experiencing any form of domestic abuse. We understand how the trauma of abuse impacts survivors. We incorporate that knowledge into all our services & programmes, which are delivered by women who've experienced abuse and so we understand the challenges survivors face.
We want to highlight the Domestic Abuse bill that is going through parliament. We want to support the calls for amendment & consideration of issues like presumed contact, the term 'parental alienation' & the use of DA experts in the family courts.
We want to support CARE International's Campaign #StopTellingHalfTheStory
We're a Community Interest Company which means that we run as a not-for-profit organisation. This means that every penny we generate from funding, donations or revenue goes directly into delivering our services and programmes. We are registered with the CIC Regulatory Office, we have a board of directors (who have all had first hand experience of abuse) & who understand the importance of our mission to support women.
In recognition of the gender disparity of domestic abuse we are an organisation that is run for women suffering abuse, by women who have escaped abuse themselves. The types of domestic abuse range from emotional, psychological, financial & physical and we help women who have experienced any fo these but we specialise in helping those who have endured coercive control or narcissistic abuse. We fight for all survivors' right to freedom and we support each woman in achieving it.
Specifically we help women who have been abused by their:
At The Unchained Phoenix we know how unique each woman's experience of abuse is. This is why we offer a range of support that provides the right level of help.
For several years we have seen women transform after accessing our:
Alongside all our existing services we will be offering our NEW services:
And later in 2021 we will be launching 2 NEW pilot projects:
This will help us run our support phone-line and live chat services as well as supporting our day to day running of the organisation and deliver free services to those who need support to recover from abusive situations.
We really appreciate every donation people made as these funds will also go towards the setting up and running of our new phone-line service as well as enabling us to work on creating new projects that will allow us to deliver even more support.

'Survive & Rise' is our 6 week course of highly interactive support and education.
For more intensive 1:1 work we offer our 'Phoenix Flight Plan' which is a 6 month programme. We will also be launching 2 new programmes in early 2021.
We hold our 2 day in-person workshops 3 times a year in Manchester. We also run a 5 day "Retreat to Recovery" which offers a relaxing environment to do some deep healing & therapeutic work. Please note - Our in-person workshops & retreats are postponed until 2021
The Unchained Phoenix is built upon 3 core pillars: Re-learning, Repairing & Reclaiming. It is a 3 stage process that each survivor is guided through at a pace that is right for them. These 3 elements are key to leaving each survivor with a strong foundation, the confidence to grow and the ability to rediscover themselves.
Knowing the impact that abuse has on survivors the primary element the Unchained Phoenix offers is a safe place to be heard, believed and understood. Beyond that there are many therapeutic routes offered and for each person the selection of treatment may be slightly different according to where you are on your journey of recovery.
The Unchained Phoenix offers a promise to be there for you every step of your journey, offering education, support and guidance. The main goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. Recovery is possible and we offer both 1:1 and group support to all survivors.
Sign up to hear about new projects & services, workshops & programmes, retreats and other upcoming events and announcements.
The 1st stage helps you to understand what you have experienced and how this has impacted you.
The 2nd stage is focused on healing and we offer a wide range of therapeutic techniques to help you.
The 3rd & final stage of the Unchained Phoenix process is to support you in taking back your life.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that any of us can experience. After abuse the likelihood of being left managing these conditions is very high. With a combination of taking time to hear and validate a person's experience, and then offer a range of therapeutically driven support, we have seen phenomenal transformations.
Many people experience PTSD and other symptoms after suffering painful and traumatic situations and abuse. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Using a range of therapeutic techniques we can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Narcissistic and other psychological abuse effects all of our relationships because a sense of trust is broken. At the Unchained Phoenix trust is rebuilt in yourself, in others and in the world. Co-dependency is another issue for many who have suffered abuse and we work with clients to help them understand and then break the trauma bonding which is common.
